Scopus customises search for IRs and collections

Scientific information provider Scopus from Elsevier has announced an upgrade that allows institutions to select repositories and digital archives for searching. Institutions can select their own repositories and the digital archives required by their users. Once the material has been indexed, a new tab appears on the Scopus interface.

ARL offers kit on institutional repositories

The Association of Research Libraries has released its Institutional Repository SPEC Kit. The kit and its executive summary describe the findings of a major survey of ARL members into their institutional repositories. The findings include statistics such as 37 member institutes (43%) have an operational institutional repository and 31 plan to have one in 2007.
