Sep. 2--The Lake Norman area now has its second Jewish congregation started by residents who want a place to worship without driving to Charlotte. Lake Norman Jewish Congregation in Mooresville grew out of the former Jewish Community of Lake Norman, the first effort at the lake to bring Jewish religious service and education to the area. That initial group is still operating, but now has a new name, Beth Shalom of Lake Norman.
