WITH about 70,800 people using the LRT, Monorail and KTM Komuter daily being either disabled or elderly, the public transport system needs to be more user-friendly.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who said this, felt the present system "is not at all friendly to senior citizens or the disabled". Shahrizat, who is also Lembah Pantai MP, welcomed the RM10 billion government allocation to upgrade the Klang Valley public transport system but lamented the lack of "friendlier" facilities.
