TAC calls for crisis meeting to develop emergency plan to beat HIV/AIDS Cape Correspondent CAPE TOWN Zackie Achmat, chairman of the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), has called on President Thabo Mbeki and his deputy, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, to convene a national crisis meeting to develop an emergency plan on HIV/AIDS.

Achmat, who was invited to speak at a Cape Town city council meeting yesterday, again urged Mbeki to replace both Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang and her director-general, Thami Mseleku.
