SHENZHEN, August 31, 2006, SinoCast -- TD-SCDMA, the home- grown 3G standard by Datang Telecom based in Beijing, China, is seeing new helper from South Korea.
SK Telecom Co., South Korea's number one mobile-phone carrier, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with China's National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC) to help China develop its own standard for 3G.
"We will help the Chinese government to develop TD-SCDMA, a 3G technology developed by China," SK Telecom PR official Hyun Sung Kang said.
