Moscow, 30 August: During a meeting with Japan's senior vice minister of foreign affairs, Katsutoshi Kaneda, on Wednesday [30 August], Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov demanded that Tokyo honour its undertakings to put a stop to poaching in Russian waters, the Russian Foreign Ministry said after the meeting.

"It was again insisted that the Japanese side keep its promises and take effective steps to put a stop to poaching in waters which are under Russia's jurisdiction," a statement issued in Moscow says.
