Island steps up campaign for The Fratellis' debut album, as NMEtour lifts band's profile to next level

Island intends to reproduce the artwork for The Fratellis' debut album Costello Music live in-store with a leading London retailer upon its release next month.
The cover image of three animated female figures forms part of an ongoing series of Twenties-style designs which have been used on all the group's singles artwork so far, and will be reconstructed live in a yet-to-be-named store window using female models.
"The album is one of the most anticipated debuts of the year," says Island's general manager Jon Turner. "This was a nice way to make an event out of its release at retail." The promotion for the album, which is released on September 11, will be complemented with live performances by the band in Virgin Edinburgh, HMV Manchester and Fopp Camden.
The Scottish trio signed to Island in 2005 and have spent the past 12 months building their fanbase via live work and extensive online activity which has centred on a busy online community a la Bebo, located at their official website (www.thefratellis.com).
