She is not one known to shy away from challenges.

At one time she walked out on retired President Moi when he went visiting her Gichugu constituency after organisers had slighted her by omitting her from the speakers' list.

At another function, during a swearing-in ceremony at State House when she had been appointed to Water ministry before being transferred to the current docket, she was the only Cabinet minister who didn't seem to bow to President Kibaki.

She appeared to have just acknowledged the seated President and walked to the swearing-in stand and then back to her seat on the State House lawns.

Neither will she shy away from bragging about her being in government (Narc or Narc Kenya?) and the government of national unity will not shy away from employing a few lessons from Kanu's days in power .
