The government has been unable to give a definite figure on the budget for the newly created agency tasked to investigate the rash of extrajudicial killings, even as its members were sworn in by Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban yesterday.

Former Supreme Court Justice Jose A.R. Melo, head of the so-called Melo Commission, told reporters after his oath taking that he could not give a specific amount needed to finance the group, nor where this will come from.
