Thailand: Philips Electronics focuses on LCD television.

Section: Corporate News - Philips Electronics (Thailand) Ltd, a Dutch manufacturer of electronic equipment, plans to jump into the lead position in the liquid-crystal-display (LCD) television market this year by emphasising the hi-tech quality of its products, The Nation reports.

The current market leader is South Korea's Samsung.

Somchai Tawornrungroj, general manager of Philips Electronics Thailand's Consumer Electronics Division, said on August 24 that his company planned to launch eight models, from 26-42 inches.
