Siam Sanitary Ware Industry Co Ltd has increased sales of its Cotto brand sanitaryware in Vietnam in a bid to shake off the effects of the recent slowdown in Thailand's economy.

As a result, exports will account for 70 per cent of its sales this year, up from 35 per cent last year.

Sales manager Pitaya Paiboon said the company was interested in Vietnam because its economy had grown so rapidly in recent years, particularly its construction industry.
