Aug. 25--The federal government's announcement that women 18 and older will be able to buy the morning-after pill without a prescription was both heralded and condemned Thursday by Houstonians aligned on both sides of the issue.
The Food and Drug Administration's ruling, which was expected, culminated a three-year effort to make the emergency contraceptive more accessible to women.
