The high rate of HIV discordant couples in eastern region presents a serious challenge to Taso and other stakeholders in caring for the sick and the fight against the Aids pandemic, the Taso Mbale Centre Manager, Mr Joshua Wamboga, has said.

Discordance is a situation where one partner has HIV, the virus that causes Aids, and the other does not.

While addressing an annual general assembly on Saturday, the Taso Mbale Centre Manager, Mr Joshua Wamboga, said discordance amongst clients in the region had shot to 65 percent.
