Baldev Chager started the KCB Savings and Loans Rally yesterday with a victory in the opening spectator stage in a Subaru Impreza.
The stage through the Mukuru slums on the outskirts of the Industrial area attracted many fans.
Chager's time of 51 seconds was also matched by Asad Anwar (Mitsubishi Lancer) Susheel Shah (Subaru Impreza) and Ian Duncan (Toyota Hilux). Sammy Aslam (Subaru Impreza) and Azar Anwar (Mitsubishi Lancer) timed 52 seconds at the end of the 1.5km kilometre section.
