In a suspected suicide, the chancellor of the University of California Santa Cruz fell to her death from the roof of a 42-floor San Francisco apartment building. Her body was found around 8 am on Saturday, June 24. She was 46.
Colleagues said she was facing multiple problems at Santa Cruz, including personal barbs and a physical attack for renovations to the president's residence, criticism for negotiating an employment package and a reportedly tumultuous personal life.
