Aug. 20--On Friday, Dilworth Elementary students will return to a renovated Dilworth Elementary. And Principal Cindy King couldn't be happier about the move.

For nearly two years, students, faculty and staff reported to the old Barringer Elementary, Dilworth's swing space, while their school was getting a face-lift.

The school has a new gymnasium, and additional classrooms in the old Euclid building, which King said hadn't been used in years. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools renovated the two-story Euclid building, built in 1929, and contractors preserved the original wood floors. Many of the art and dance classes and the…
