Aug. 19--New schools Superintendent Peter Gorman closed on a south Charlotte house Friday and announced his daughter will attend Beverly Woods Elementary.

He plans for Katie, a rising third-grader, to later attend Carmel Middle and South Meck High.

Gorman declined to discuss many details about his new home. Public records show he paid $838,000 for the 4,300-square-foot house near Quail Hollow Club.

Gorman has a $310,000 annual pay package. He'll also have money from the sale of his home in California, where real estate is much more expensive.
