Aug. 18--Grand Prairie and Lancaster school officials learned Thursday that they must set aside a total of nearly $1 million in federal funds after some of their Title I schools failed to meet minimum federal standards for at least two years in a row. Title I schools are campuses that receive federal funds for low-income students. Texas school districts learned their fates Thursday when the Texas Education Agency released 2006 "adequate yearly progress" figures for all campuses.
