General Motors' next-generation full-size pickups, arguably the company's most important new vehicles in years, arrive in showrooms in late October.
As with the big sport/utility vehicles that also were pulled ahead in pursuit of profits, GM yanked out the stops to get the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra into dealerships three months ahead of a planned January 2007 market debut.
