Aug. 15--James Hardy can check off at least one item on his list of things to worry about this college football offseason, and it's the biggie.
Misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and interference with the reporting of a crime filed in Allen Superior Court against Hardy, a standout wide receiver at Indiana University and Elmhurst High School graduate, were formally put on hold Monday. The charges -- which stem from a May incident in which Hardy allegedly battered his longtime girlfriend and mother of his infant son -- will be dropped altogether in February if he completes a six-month pretrial diversion program.
