FA of Malaysia (FAM) president Sultan Ahmad Shah's immediate task is to sort out the mess that football - on and off the pitch - is in.

Off the pitch, the football fraternity has been left wondering what has gone wrong with the administration of what was once the nation's best run association. On the field, yet another club - Selangor MPPJ - are talking about abandoning the cause.

Both have diverse implications on the sport and Sultan Ahmad Shah has to step in and salvage the situation, quickly, to prevent FAM from becoming a laughing stock.
