Currently coordinator of information technology for the West Hartford Public Schools, CT, author James R. Benn was one of several librarians profiled in "Shelf Life: Librarians Who Write" (LJ 2/15/04, p. 34-37).

Writing has brought my career full circle, back to books as the basis of what I love doing. The joy of exploring literature is what brought me to my first job ever, as a public library page at age 15.
