Aug. 12--LA JUNTA - Regional health workers confirmed Friday they have discovered the Lower Arkansas Valley's third human case of the West Nile virus, this one in Otero County.
Otero County Health Director Rick Ritter said an unidentified Otero County man is suffering from uncomplicated West Nile fever.

"That doesn't mean it's not a rough ride. It's very hard for people suffering from this," Ritter said.
"We need to protect ourselves and take precautions," he added.
