Irkutsk, 10 August: A total of 206.5m dollars has been allocated in 2006 for the development of the Verkhnechonsk oil and gas field, the largest in East Siberia. This is 13.1m dollars more than initially planned, a Verkhnechonskneftegaz [the operator of the field development project and license holder] representative told ITAR-TASS today.

Additional funding was required to prepare an investment feasibility study for the full-scale development of the field, design a pipeline and build a road to the nearby Talakan field in Yakutia. The financing of drilling …
