"I think we can do it,'' Michael Schumacher said of his championship hopes after winning the French Grand Prix. After Schumacher's third straight win, this one at the German Grand Prix, the notion is suddenly plausible.

Ferrari's resurgence began at Indianapolis, but that was thought something of a special case: Ferrari always wins at Indy. Next, Schumacher won comfortably at Magny-Cours, and he reckoned that was more significant. "Last year Fernando [Alonso] and Renault won easily, so it means something that we beat them this time.''
