Aug. 10--WASHINGTON -- The worker who oversaw the evacuation of a Bellaire nursing home during Hurricane Rita told federal investigators Wednesday that she was relying on the state and federal government to ensure the safety of buses on the road. And while she was in contact with Texas officials and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Kellie Gundling said, her company was essentially on its own to arrange transportation for 38 elderly patients and six staffers.
