Voltage Regulator minimizes need for external components.(STMicroelectronics' New Voltage Regulator Shrinks Portable and Battery-Powered Devices)
Supplied in DFN6 3 x 3 mm ECOPACK[R] package, ST1S06 includes synchronous rectification block to avoid use of external Schottky Diode while promoting up to 95% efficiency. Step-down dc-dc converter, suited for data-storage applications and portable devices, has output current capability of 1.5 A max over all operating conditions and 1.5 MHz switching frequency. For operation, fixed output product requires small inductor and 2 capacitors. Adjustable version also requires 2 resistors.
