Byline: Marie Vasari
Aug. 4--The family farmers and olive vendors, crafters and soapmakers of Marina's farmers market are moving to a new plot.
Marina's weekly market, launched by Everyone's Harvest three years ago in the Monterey-Salinas Transit Station parking lot, is relocating across the road Sunday to the Marina Village Shopping Center.
The move was instigated by a newly organized merchants association, looking to improve business to the city's oldest shopping center and boost visibility.
Jay Gray, owner of A Pizza Paradise in the shopping center and president-elect of the Marina Village Merchants Association, said shop owners have recognized the need for a greater collective voice and increased public awareness.
