- What's the secret of a good drivetime show?
It's the end of the workday for most people, so it's the start of their free time for the day. Recognise that and reflect it with the pace of the show and what you talk about. No-one cares by 4pm what the morning papers were saying. It's all about tonight and tomorrow!
- Why did you switch stations?
I grew up listening to Capital Radio. In those days, while Radio 1 had country-pub darts with DLT, Capital had Kenny Everett, Chris Tarrant, John Sachs, David Jensen - it was all about London and played great music. The opportunity to create radio so good it makes Radio 1 sound as out of touch as it did then can only be achieved at a station with the heritage and resources Capital has.
