from ANTARA, The Indonesian National News Agency Jakarta, July 31 (ANTARA) - Almost 2,000 hectares of vegetable crops have been damaged by floods occurring in many parts of the country recently, an agriculture ministry official said here on Monday

The director for the protection of horticultural plantations at the ministry of agriculture, Sukirno, said floods had damaged a total of 2,359 hectares of vegetable crops, 1,904 hectares of them totally, from January to June this year

"Most of the fields were located on hilly terrain and were affected by landslides after heavy rain," he said
