LAST week, at the RFIDAsia Exhibition held in Kuala Lumpur, the newly formed Persatuan RFID Malaysia (www.rfidmalaysia.org) passed around a Press release announcing its efforts to bring together the industry and research institutions to formulate a radio frequency identification (RFID) industry blueprint for industry players under the 9th Malaysia Plan (9MP).

The platform for this discussion would be a national conference on the RFID industry which is slotted to be held in February next year.

The association seemed rather anxious on the future and direction of the industry as a whole …
