The European Union and the Netherlands government have launched a community project worth Shs2 billion to strengthen farmer associations for poverty eradication in Kabale district.
The money will be channeled through African 2000 Network, a Kabale-based NGO.
The NGO's Coordinator, Mr Alex Ariho, launched the project at Rwamucucu sub-county on July 21. He said over 75-farmer groups comprising 215 households had been formed in the district to benefit from the project. The project, which targets over 1,850 new farmers will run for three years.
