Jul. 27--Crews rolled traffic barrels away from the entry ramp this morning. Within minutes, the first cars zipped onto the West Dodge Expressway.
After two years of construction, the expressway's westbound bridge opened to traffic at 10:35 a.m. today.
A silver Toyota, a Ford Explorer and a Chrysler minivan were among the first to cross the bridge.
The first drivers went a little slower because they were led by a Nebraska State Patrol cruiser. But soon cars were rolling across at the 55-mph speed limit.
