In Libraries & Culture, Vol. 40, No. 3 (Summer 2005), pages 244-45, Table 2, "Shaw-Shoemaker Totals by Year" contained incorrect numbers. On page 245, beginning with the column under 1830, the numbers on the top and bottom rows are reversed. The first row, which refers to the U.S., should begin with 4,065. The third row, "Total," should begin with 5,609.…
