Jul. 20--BUENA VISTA - A 54-year-old Greenwood Village man was found dead Wednesday near the summit of Mount Hope, above Clear Creek Reservoir on the north end of Chaffee County. The victim was identified as Pete Spatt, according to Chaffee County Sheriff Tim Walker. Spatt was hiking with his friend Dave Hershey of Dallas and his son, Scott Hershey, of Centennial. The group set out at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and about three hours later the Hersheys decided to turn around and hike back to the vehicle due to bad weather and lightning strikes moving into their area.
