Jul. 19--WASHINGTON -- The head of the UAW and two Democratic lawmakers called Tuesday for reforms to corporate bankruptcy law, saying Delphi Corp.'s bankruptcy exposes weaknesses that punish workers and reward managers unfairly. Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., and Rep. John Conyers, D-Detroit, held a roundtable discussion to promote their bill, which would limit executive bonuses at bankrupt companies and force federal bankruptcy judges to consider a company's foreign assets when asked to terminate a union contract.
