KUALA LUMPUR: Official crime statistics, such as the police Crime Index provide an inaccurate and incomplete analysis of the true levels of crime in society, says a criminologist.
Dr P. Sundramoorthy said for every reported crime, other criminal activities go undetected and this had led to a gross underestimation of the magnitude of the crime problem.
