Toshiba Brings Strata CIX VoIP Systems to Mexico.
Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (TAIS TSD) announces a new subsidiary to sell Toshiba Strata CIX IP systems in Mexico, noting that 54% of Mexico-based companies are planning to upgrade their telephony systems while 80% will migrate to IP telephony. Launched in May 2006, the new Toshiba de Mexico Digital Solutions Division will distribute Strata CIX100, CIX200 and CIX670 IP telephony systems via 15 currently-signed Mexico-based Authorized Toshiba Dealers. Toshiba de Mexico is planning to expand its distribution partners throughout Mexico to 60 by end of year 2007.
Toshiba's Strata CIX is an IP telephony system designed for businesses of varying sizes and with multiple sites. While the system can be TDM-enabled to integrate with station and trunk interfaces from earlier Strata CTX and Strata DK digital systems, the IP-based Strata CIX also enables peer-to-peer IP communications and IP networking, as well as support for SIP-based IP telephones.
