Jul. 12--PITTSBURGH -- The setting was perfect. One more strike, one more measly swing-and-a-miss, and the National League could stop all the Major League Baseball All-Star Game laughter.
"Why me?" Ozzie Guillen said on the bench. "Why do I have to lose this game?"
Three swings later, it was the NL searching for answers. Again.
Will the American League dominance ever end? After Tuesday night's 3-2 win at PNC Park, the NL has to be wondering whom it irritated in a previous life.
It had one of the game's all-time relievers on the mound. Trevor Hoffman got two quick outs, then gave up two hits. Still, he had an 0-2 count on Michael Young.
After going 10 years without an all-star game win, the NL couldn't have asked for much more.
