Two politicians have petitioned court accusing the Electoral Commission of refusing to register their party Kabaka Yekka, saying it is unconstitutional.

The Secretary General of the party, Mr Herman Kazibwe, and Mr Paul Kafero in the petition filed at the Constitutional Court claim that on September 24, 2004 they went to the Registrar General of Political Parties to submit required documents for the registration of their party.

They claim the Assistant Registrar, Ms Juliet Nassuna, later wrote to them asking them to change their party symbol, which they did.
