Fall is family time. Time for back to school preparations: new shoes, clothes, school books and bag lunches. It can be a constant challenge finding the right foods for lunches and suppers that children will enjoy and eat. If lunch is unattractive or lacks color or flavor, children may discard it or trade for everything from pens and pencils to desserts or less wholesome foods.

Suppertime can create equally difficult choices. Finding foods that are appealing to children as well as to adults is not an easy task. Adults like substantial, wholesome, flavorful foods while children prefer simple, easy foods with mild flavors.

The good news is that there are recipes and menus that will satisfy everyone. Wholesome versions of traditional recipes will please children and adults.

Try these lunch and snack ideas and notice the appreciation you get from kids and parents alike. Also, these hearty, and pleasing supper recipes will find favor with hungry adults and finicky children. Many of these menu ideas are so easy to make, your children can take part in the preparation. Children usually enjoy eating foods they help to prepare.
