Rachael Lucas tells me that she hasn't slept for about thirty hours when we meet for an interview about her debut feature film Bondi Tsunami. She's been writing and recording the 'special features' commentary tracks for the DVD of the film, which is scheduled for release in April 2005. Weary but smiling, she seems like a woman who, after five years of committed work on the project, is beginning to delight in the fruits of her labour. Bondi Tsunami is a journey that has consumed Rachael since she was 24 years old. She's now 29 and wants her life back, or at least some of it.
