Latest research indicates that the number of HIV discordant couples, whereby one partner has HIV, the virus that causes Aids, and the other does not, has increased in the country.

The media last month quoted the Assistant Commissioner for National Diseases Control in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Alex Apio saying that the number of discordant couples had increased from 4.8 percent last year to 5 percent.
