Jul. 7--Over the past five years, there has been a growing number of teenage females who start out as actors and then try their hands at a singing career.
It was a smart move for youngsters Hilary and Hayley Duff, Lindsay Lohan and Ashlee Simpson as they have successfully become a show business "dual threat."
Add two more potential stars to that list.
Aly and AJ, otherwise known as 17-year-old Alyson Michalka, and her sister Amanda Joy, 15, released their first album, "Into The Rush," in August 2005. It peaked at No. 36 on Billboard's Hot 200 album chart and was certified gold with sales of over 500,000 discs in March.
What's amazing about that statistic is that the girls reached that plateau with almost no airplay or elaborate promotion schemes. In fact they are just now starting to get recognized on MTV's "Total Request Live."…
