Jul. 7--Delia Garcia enjoyed a typical moment at summer school yesterday, reading a book while relaxing in a papa-san chair. But a few minutes later, the 11-year-old Johnson Elementary School fifth-grader joined six peers and put on her dancing shoes -- so to speak.
The group got a quick lesson in ballroom dancing -- merengue, salsa and waltz -- through a pilot program brought to the school by the Music Institute of Lexington.
After six lessons with dance teacher Beth Mekus, Delia said she can't stop her feet from moving and sees dancing in her future.
"I like dancing, and maybe one day I'll be a teacher teaching…
