Jul. 7--For obvious reasons, race-car drivers tend to identify those tracks where they have had success and then look forward to racing at them. Earlier this week, Nextel Cup driver Jeff Gordon began peeling off a list of upcoming tracks where he has does well. They were all tracks that could help him get back into contention for a berth in the Chase for the Nextel Cup Championship. None of them were mile-and-a-half tri-ovals. The truth is, Gordon and his Hendrick Motorsports team have struggled at the 1.5s in recent years.
