Peshawar: Seventy Lashkar-i-Islami men were arrested when political authorities of the tense Khyber Agency Wednesday [5 July] launched a fresh crackdown in Gagrina village of the remotest Tirah Valley, the area where the organization's head Mangal Bagh has taken shelter.

All the arrested men belong to the Zakhakhel Bazar tribe of Landi Kotal sub-division. Besides economic blockade and closing the local routes, the authorities have stopped all the privileges to the tribesmen under the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR). Issuances of national …
