Jul. 2--The Hickory Grove Fourth of July parade -- a 38-year tradition -- steps off Tuesday at a new time and along a new route. Organizers are starting the parade at 10:30 a.m. instead of 11 a.m., in part to beat the heat. Also, it will give more time for the festival that follows on the grounds of Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church. The parade will follow a different route this year. It's one that dates back to the parade's early years and makes it easier for police to direct traffic.
