Jun. 30--PLEASANTON -- A man who told police he needed the money to make ends meet while going though a divorce has been arrested in connection with a string of robberies in Livermore and Pleasanton. Joseph Anthony Hasselwander, 37, of Livermore, was arrested Thursday afternoon at his workplace in Pleasanton, according to police news release.

He is accused of using a knife to rob one Pleasanton store and three locations in Livermore -- a Hallmark Store on Santa Rita Roud in Pleasanton on June 26; and in Livermore, a Taco Bell on Las Positas Boulevard on May 14, Valley Gas Station on First Street on June 25, and a Subway restaurant on …
