Emerald fine tunes its engineering portal

A new engineering portal, aimed at both practising engineers and academics, has been launched by Emerald Publishing.
The portal, Emerald Engineering, will draw content from Emerald's 16 engineering and material science journals, and from its technology and management titles. The content will be divided into four disciplines: advanced automation; computational mathematics; electronics manufacture and packaging; and materials science.
Sharon Parkinson, head of Emerald Engineering, said that Emerald was known as a publisher of management journals, but also had strong engineering titles. "We wanted to make some kind of contact with the engineering community," she said. "Creating a website gives us that opportunity."
